No matter your physical size, strength, fitness or age, everyone can learn to sail through the GPYC Executive Team Building sessions. Participants may have some sailing experience or none at all. By the end of our sessions your group will gain confidence and discover how to work as a team to participate in a match sailing race.
Grosse Pointe Yacht Club has two competitive J22 sail boats with outboard motors for harbor access. Sailing professionals accompany each team aboard a J22 as they coach them through team building exercises. They will learn boat handling, steering with a tiller, sail trim as well as points of sail, wind, and rigging.
Our coaches specialize in teaching how to work together to get the most out of the boat’s potential. Our state-of-the art Marine Sailing Center is classroom ready. Your team will experience both roles as captain and crew thus learning what it is like to take and give commands.
All boats have been certified and safety-checked. Proper life jackets will be provided.
The experience can include classwork ashore and afloat. Full or half day Executive Team Building sessions can be tailored to your company's specific needs. Team Building sessions can also be combined with corporate meetings held in our historic Clubhouse or Sailing Center. All facilities have WiFi and media carts with TVs, computers and DVD players.
Sessions can accommodate a variety of group sizes. T-Shirts with your corporate branding is available upon request.
