2021 High School Sailing Pricing


Spring Program

March 15 – May 24, Monday through Thursday

GPYC invites high school and college teams to come and use the club’s facilities to participate in the fastest growing school sport in the country. By enrolling in our program, you will have access to the GPYC’s fleet of 18 fully refurbished 420s, Lasers and powerboats, as well as the Marine Activity Center, a heated facility with multiple classroom areas to utilize. GPYC’s Junior Sailing Director Emily Simon will be available to help with coaching and will run team racing clinics each Tuesday for interested teams. Emily sailed for College of Charleston, placing 3rd in the 2009 ICSATeam Race Nationals, and continues to actively team race today. Our spring program runs from March 11 (weather permitting) through May 24 with practices on Monday-Thursday.

Fall Program

September 9 – October 29

 The fall sailing season provides the sameopportunities, except that sailing teams have the option of practicingays, Tuesdays and Thursdays by our juniorsailing director on the club’s 420s and Lasers. The fall is great time to growany high school sailing program due to warmer air and water temperatures. Ourfall program will run from September usage of theboats available to teams with coaches until November 8.  

2021 High School clinic

Free Test Sail
Interested in sailing but not sure if you'll like it? Come to GPYC during our two-day test sail and see for yourself. Our coaches will be there to help incoming 8th–12th graders get out on the Club's 420s.
Aug. 23 – 27
High School Learn to Sail
This one-week intensive clinic is aimed at incoming 8th–12th graders who want to become more involved on their school's sailing team. This clinic will go over the basics of 420 sailing and focus on boat handling and basic racing skills. It will be coached by Emily Simon and Adrianna Lee.
$200/person + $50 credit towards Fall season

Intermediate-Advanced High School Clinic
GPYC will bring in a top-notch coach to host a three-day clinic for those enrolled in the fall program. Details to come.

2021 High School EVENTS

The Marine Activity Center (MAC) is a perfect facility to host any high school or college sailing event. GPYC offers a wide variety of services from usage of the facilities to full-service catering.  For use of the facilities, GPYC will keep a portion of the entry fee as follows:

Host school does all ofthe work running the regatta
2/3rd entry fee
2/3rd entry fee Host school does everything
except run the regatta on the water

GPYC hosts and runs the regatta
